Caddy For A Cure Seeks Big 2008

- PGA.com

(January 4, 2008 - Coral Springs, FL) - Caddy for a Cure, Inc., the opportunity of a golfing lifetime to go inside the ropes with the world's best players at PGA TOUR venues, proudly announces the participation of three world superstars in the 2008 Caddy For A Cure line-up at the FBR Open in Scottsdale, Arizona - Daniel Chopra, Phil Mickelson and Brett Wetterich.

Mickelson, who is one of the undisputable greats of the game with 32 wins on tour, including The Masters and PGA Championship, returns to his hometown for this exciting tournament. Chopra, who secured his first PGA TOUR victory recently at the Ginn Sur Mer Classic, continues his steady and exciting climb upward in popularity and the Official World Golf Rankings. Wetterich, U.S. team Ryder Cupper, finished 27th in the 2007 FedEx Cup rankings and has ranked in the top 10 in the PGA TOUR's money list.

"We are overwhelmed with this exciting news" says Russ Holden, Caddy for a Cure founder and veteran PGA TOUR caddy. "Having Phil involved with our charity is what we've dreamed of from the inception of Caddy for a Cure and now having Daniel Chopra and Brett Wetterich join us for the first time is another tribute to the spirit of giving back to the community by both players and the PGA TOUR."

The FBR Open is legendary for drawing the largest crowds on the PGA TOUR and for attracting the best in the game to its field. Held at the beautiful TPC Scottsdale Stadium course, the FBR Open is a perfect venue for tournament golf, spectators, and great views from all the crucial holes.

This year marks the 73rd playing of the tournament and anniversary between the FBR Open and tournament host, The Thunderbirds, who have donated millions of dollars to various charities.

"All in all, the fit between Mickelson, Chopra, Wetterich, the FBR Open, The Thunderbirds and Caddy for a Cure is perfect," says Holden. He continues, "Once again, we witness the outstanding commitment of the professional game of golf and all those involved to change lives for the better."

Caddy for a Cure will offer this and other exciting PGA TOUR player caddy opportunities through its website and eBay auctions. The auction for Phil Mickelson, Daniel Chopra and Brett Wetterich at the 2008 FBR Open will begin on Friday, January 4, 2008 and will run for 10-days through Monday, January 14, 2008. Tuesday, January 29th is the caddy date for Chopra and Wetterich and Wednesday, January 30th is the caddy date for Mickelson.

Caddy for a Cure, Inc. offers individuals the chance to caddy for some of the world's best players during their official practice rounds of PGA TOUR events through bid opportunities in online auctions on eBay. Caddy for a Cure, Inc. donates 100% of auction proceeds to various designated charities, including the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, which is the catalyst for the Caddy for a Cure program.
