Corning, CA- Sevillano Links at Rolling Hills Casino will host an inaugural Golf Fore a Good Cause event at its resort on Friday, October 17, 2008. Women from various regions in Northern California will gather at Sevillano Links (located 90 minutes north of Sacramento on I-5) for a golf-related event that includes insightful presentations on golf, business and vibrant living, PGA and LPGA golf instruction, plus dining and networking opportunities, while also benefiting a good cause.
The half-day event is designed specifically for women eighteen and older who want to learn more about the game of golf-- from first-time golfers to former players interested in returning to the sport. PGA and LPGA teaching professionals will provide instruction on all aspects of the game at Sevillano Links' spectacular practice facility. For those who may not yet own equipment, golf clubs will be available for use courtesy of Sevillano Links.
"Our goal at Sevillano Links is to continue introducing women to the game of golf in a relaxed and fun environment," shared PGA Director of Golf Brian Dahmer. "The clinic will include a series of learning modules, addressing everything from driving to chipping, bunker play, putting, and course etiquette too." Free ball mark repair tools will be distributed courtesy of the Northern California Chapter of the GCSAA, and Host Superintendent Matthew Hoyt, CGCS, will demonstrate how to properly conduct ball mark repair.
The event will also include an enlightening presentation from Keynote Speaker Suzanne Woo, founder of BizGolf Dynamics and author of On Course for Business. Woo, an attorney who turned a passion for golf into her life work, will explain how women can deepen business relationships and increase personal and professional success through the game of golf. A charismatic speaker, Woo has been featured in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and numerous other national publications. She continues to share the secrets for successful business golf at facilities which actively participate in (and promote) Play Golf America, the industry-wide growth of the game initiative.
Attendees will have a chance to network during the afternoon "Tee" party while perusing more than a dozen on-site boutiques. Networking will continue into the early evening accompanied by a scrumptious "Fairway to Food" dinner at the Rolling Hills Casino.
Cost to attend the event is $75.00 per person, which includes golf instruction, keynote presentation, appetizers and dinner, plus a gift bag with Precept golf balls, cosmetic products, and a copy of Woo's book, On Course for Business. Proceeds from the event will benefit women's cancer research, National Council for Better Health Through Golf and its initiative Doctor's Orders: Play Golf.
