- PGA.com

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- PGA Professionals will give free 10-minute lessons during the 69th Senior PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club, May 21-25 (Wednesday-Sunday). The free lessons will be given at The PGA Learning Center located between the Media Center and Senior PGA Championship Golf Shop. Titleist and Cobra are supplying the equipment for the free lessons.

PGA Professionals from the Western New York PGA Section will give the free 10-minute lessons in two hitting bays. The PGA Learning Center will be open from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Sunday. The lessons are being given as part of the PGA's national Play Golf America campaign for PGA Free Lesson Month. Each person who takes a golf lesson will receive a complimentary coin with the Senior PGA Championship and Play Golf America logos, along with information on upcoming Play Golf America promotions.

"More than 2,000 fans received expert instruction from the PGA Learning Center's team of 100 PGA Professional volunteers last year at the Senior PGA Championship and PGA Championship," PGA of America President Brian Whitcomb said. "We are thrilled to continue these complimentary lessons at the 69th Senior PGA Championship, giving fans a first-hand experience to see how a PGA Professional can improve their game and make golf more enjoyable."

Play Golf America, designed to increase participation among new and existing golfers, was developed by The PGA of America, with the support of allied associations including: the LPGA, National Golf Course Owners Association, PGA Tour, USGA and others involved in the Golf 20/20 Conference. The program utilizes the www.PlayGolfAmerica.com Web site to serve as a link for consumers to access fun, affordable and informative programs in their area.

Since 1916, The PGA of America's mission has been twofold: to establish and elevate the standards of the profession and to grow interest and participation in the game of golf.

By establishing and elevating the standards of the golf profession through world-class education, career services, marketing and research programs, the Association enables PGA Professionals to maximize their performance in their respective career paths and showcases them as experts in the game and in the $76 billion golf industry.

By creating and delivering dramatic world-class championships and exciting and enjoyable golf promotions that are viewed as the best of their class in the golf industry, The PGA of America elevates the public's interest in the game, the desire to play more golf, and ensures accessibility to the game for everyone, everywhere.

The PGA of America brand represents the very best in golf.
