LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Ryder Cup fans have yet another reason to visit RyderCup.com. Along with keeping track of their favorite Ryder Cup team members and news about the biennial matches, golf and art fans alike can bid on the elegant and distinguished portraits of U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Paul Azinger and European Ryder Cup Captain Nick Faldo.

The uniquely personal portraits, painted by renowned American artist LeRoy Neiman, were unveiled before members of The PGA of America and The PGA European Tour and representatives of the Muhammad Ali Center and The First Tee of Louisville last October in Louisville. Since then, the portraits have been on exhibit at Cobalt Art Gallery in downtown Louisville.

The online auction allows interested art collectors and sports fans from all over the world to bid on these one-of-a-kind paintings. Proceeds from the auction of the portraits will benefit both the Ali Center and The First Tee of Louisville.

Interested bidders are encouraged to visit the Ryder Cup site and make their bid based on previous bid history. The online auction began Monday, August 25, 2008 and will continue through the final day of the 37th Ryder Cup, Sunday, September 21, 2008, at 6 p.m. EST.

Neiman is one of the most popular living artists in the United States today. He was commissioned to create the Official Artwork for the 37th Ryder Cup in Louisville. Previously, he created official imagery for the 1997 Kentucky Derby, 1998 Breeders' Cup Championship, the 2000 PGA Championship, as well as official art for five Olympiads and four Super Bowls.
