MANSER NAMED CHAMPIONSHIP DIRECTOR OF 71st SENIOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Nov. 17, 2008 -- PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Jeromy Manser of Louisville, Ky., has been named the Championship Director of the 71st Senior PGA Championship, the most prestigious and historic event in senior golf, which will make its first western visit May 24-30, 2010, at Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colo.

Manser, 28, was the on-site Tournament Operations Manager for the 37th Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.

Manser is a native of Salem, Ohio, and a 2002 graduate in sport management from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, where he competed on the varsity baseball team.

Following graduation, Manser began his golf administration career as an Operations Assistant for the 63rd Senior PGA Championship at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. In May 2002, he served an internship as Tournament Director/Coordinator for the Illinois Junior Golf Association. From January to April 2003, Manser was a marketing coordinator for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association.

Manser served as Operations Assistant at two consecutive major championships in 2003, the 64th Senior PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa., and the 85th PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.

He was named Championship Manager-Administration in November 2003 for the 66th Senior PGA Championship at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa., and assumed the same duties from July 2005 through February 2006 at the 68th Senior PGA Championship at The Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.

In February 2006, Manser became Championship Operations Manager for the 89th PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., where he facilitated all operational details related to the planning, design, development and operation of the season's final major.

Since 1937, golf's best professionals have been competing for the Senior PGA Championship's coveted Alfred S. Bourne Trophy. Past Champions include Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino, as well as Raymond Floyd, Hale Irwin, Gary Player and Tom Watson.
