MADRID Spain (PA) -- Martin Kaymer is hoping to return at the Castello Masters in Spain on Oct. 22. The 24-year-old has been out of action for nearly two months after breaking his toes in a go-kart crash.
"Martin is doing quite well actually and he has already done a little bit of chipping and putting," said his manager, Lillian Jansson. "He is really keen to get back to the course again."
Kaymer, who had surgery at the end of August, lost the top spot on the European money list when Rory McIlroy finished tied for second in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship a week ago.
That also pushed Paul Casey down to third on the cash chart. He has not played since withdrawing from the WGC-Bridgestone Invitiational on Aug. 6 because of a rib injury.
Casey's planned return is the Volvo World Match Play Championship near Marbella, Spain, at the end of the month. Kaymer and McIlroy have also qualified for the 16-man field there.
