SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Utah PGA Section Professionals gave more than 100 free golf lessons during "Play Golf America Nights" as the NBA's Utah Jazz hosted the Houston Rockets, March 4, at EnergySolutions Arena. In addition, more than 250 children, ages 14 years and under, received a new custom fit golf club for free, compliments of the Section's "Clubs for Kids" program. Spectators were introduced to the game of golf and the lessons were open to all ages and skill levels.
"The Utah PGA Section's first Play Golf America Night was a huge success!" said Devin Dehlin, operations and foundation director for the Section. "We look forward to equally successful nights at our remaining two events."
The Section has two more Play Golf America Nights scheduled with the Utah Jazz: Tuesday, March 24 (Houston) and Monday, April 13 (LA Clippers).
To date, PGA Sections have hosted Play Golf America events with complimentary PGA Professional golf instruction for fans at MLB, NASCAR, NCAA, NBA, NHL, and WNBA sporting events.
