
More than 400 people attended the Gateway Section Play Golf America Day presented by American Express, July 15, at The Falls Golf Club in O'Fallon, Mo. Along with free lessons from the 40 PGA Professionals onsite, fans were also able to participate in demos and ball fittings from various major golf vendors.
Putting and chipping competitions were held throughout the day with hourly prize giveaways. The fans were treated to Divot the Clown's Trick Shot Show and PGA Professional Steve Lotz's (Tower Tee) Long Drive Show. Helen Kurtin, Golf Body Performance Center, worked with some of the fans in an interactive clinic, while PGA Professionals Pol Montano and Ron Akin demonstrated the "1 Plane Swing".
The Gateway PGA Section had three stations set up for junior golfers, beginner golfers and advanced golfers, with Gateway PGA Professionals giving free 10-minute lessons at each station. Information on junior golf programs, Play Golf America programs and the Gateway PGA Section and its Foundation were also available to the fans.
