
Turner Sports announced today that online traffic for the golf Web sites it represents - PGATour.com, PGA.com and Yahoo! Sports -- averaged 6.2 million monthly unique users in the third quarter of 2009, according to Nielsen, which was over two times the nearest competitor. This performance capped off another quarter of dominance for these leading digital golf properties across unique users, page views, time spent and video streams. With events such as the British Open, PGA Championship, PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedEx Cup and Presidents Cup occurring in the quarter, live video coverage of marquee events, the integration of the three major social media platforms, and the roll-out of many other innovative functionality, Turner's portfolio of sites registered an average of 111 million monthly page views which was also over two times the nearest competitor. The portfolio also registered 88 million average minutes per month, more than six times the nearest competitor.
"The third quarter showcased Turner Sports' strategy to aggregate the best golf brands and content, apply innovative technology and world-class user experience, and facilitate distribution across multiple ubiquitous platforms," said Matthew Hong, Turner Sports senior vice president and general manager of sports operations. "Over the past three months, live video coverage of premier golf events, as well as best-of-breed golf instructional video, was broadcast on TNT, featured online at PGATour.com, PGA.com, and Yahoo Sports!, and displayed on PGA Tour and PGA of America mobile sites and iPhone apps."

PGATour.com's average monthly unique visitors for the third quarter were 4.7 million, an increase of 67% year-over-year, according to Omniture.
In the third quarter of 2009, PGATour.com's total page views were up 66% to 661 million, according to Omniture.
In August 2009, PGATour.com broke a site record for monthly unique visitors at 5.5 million, finishing ahead of June '09 (of 5.4 million) according to Omniture.
During the tournament days of the four PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedExCup events (The Barclays, Deutsche Bank Championship, BMW Championship and THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola), PGATour.com had a total of 859 million page views (+89% YOY), an average of 606K daily unique visitors (Thurs -- Sun) (+89% YOY), and a total of 1.6 million Live@ streams (+212% YOY) according to Omniture.
Official coverage of the 2009 British Open on PGA.com, set record setting traffic numbers for four days of coverage with 85 million page views, a 44% increase over last year and 594,000 live streams, an 80% increase over last year according to Omniture.
PGA.com's coverage of the 2009 PGA Championship had a record number of unique users with 1.4 million average daily uniques, a 94% increase from 2008, according to Omniture.
PGA.com's four days of coverage of the PGA Championship set a record of 206 million total page views a 68% increase from 2008.
In third quarter of 2009, PGA.com's total page views were up 25% to 347 million and average monthly uniques was up 2.9 million (+ 20% YOY) according to Omniture.
Nearly 5.7 million video streams were served during the third quarter on PGA.com, a 176% increase, according to Omniture.
