Asian Tour names ex-European Tour chief Schofield to board of directors

Former European Tour Executive Director Ken Schofield has been appointed to the board of the Asian Tour.

Asian Tour Executive Chairman Kyi Hla Han said Tuesday that Schofield would bring expertise on how to strengthen a tour that is drawn from a broad range of countries.

He also said the Asian Tour would be able to call on Schofield’s involvement in the setting up of the European Tour Productions television company.

Schofield, who retired as the European Tour chief in 2004 after more than 30 years, said the Asian Tour’s “potential to grow is unlimited.”
