In recent years, we've enjoyed seeing Nike Golf's ''apparel scripts'' – the outfits the Swoosh staff players wear in the majors. This year, Oakley is jumping into the preview game, showing us what reigning Masters champion Bubba Watson will don during his return to Augusta National.
The photo above shows Watson's wardrobe for Thursday through Sunday, running from left to right.
Sunday was a busy day in golf, with Kevin Streelman getting his long-awaited breakthrough win on the PGA Tour, Stacy Lewis taking over as the top-ranked player in the women's game, David Frost going wire-to-wire at the Toshiba Classic – and, hopefully, a whole lot of you getting out on the course for some spring golf fun of your own.
The International Olympic Committee tweeted out a peek at the course that'll be used when golf returns to the Summer Games in 2016.
The course is being built at Reserva de Marapendi in Barra da Tijuca, the district of Rio de Janeiro that will contain the largest number of Olympic Games venues. It will be "a unique Olympic Games venue," says the IOC, located approximately three miles from the Athletes' Village and about five miles from the Main Press Center and the International Broadcast Center.
Tom Watson has only been the U.S. Ryder Cup captain for three months, and the 2014 Ryder Cup is still a good year and a half away. But Watson has been thinking hard about what he wants his team to look like when it arrives at Gleneagles Resort in Scotland in late September of next year.
The Masters begins four weeks from today! One of the many cool things about the season's first major is the relatively new trend in which some of the big clubmakers provide their players with special Masters-themed bags. In the last few days, we've gotten our first looks at a couple of them.
The one on the left in the photo above is Callaway's creation, obviously, while the one on the right is from TaylorMade.
