Record Pace of Registrations Signals High Demand for 2017 PGA Championship Tickets

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 20, 2016) – The PGA of America announced today that ticket registrations for the 2017 PGA Championship, slated for Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club Aug. 7-13, 2017, are outpacing those of past PGA Championships, suggesting the demand for tickets will be extraordinarily high when they go on sale to the public this August.

“The amazing volume of ticket registrations indicates that the actual sale of tickets will be very strong,” said 2017 PGA Championship Director Jason Mengel. “Based on this demand, we anticipate the most popular ticket types – including single-day access to the championship rounds and weekly Wanamaker Club passes that offer upgraded amenities – to be among the first to sell out. So we’re urging those that want the best selection of ticket options when they go on sale in August to register immediately to avoid missing out.”

To ensure widespread access to the most coveted ticket types, PGA Championship tickets are sold exclusively through a free, no obligation, online registration process. Fans can visit www.pgachampionship.com to hold their place in line – first come, first served – to purchase tickets when they go on sale in August of 2016.

A variety of ticket options will be available to suit every level of interest, including:

• Weekly Wanamaker Club Ticket Package – This package provides admittance to the grounds for all seven days of the Championship plus access to the Wanamaker Club, an air-conditioned, sports-bar-like atmosphere, located on course, featuring televisions, luxury restrooms and premium food and beverage options available for purchase. Each weekly Wanamaker Club ticket package comes in the form of seven individual daily tickets (one for Monday, one for Tuesday, etc.) and is $600 per package.

• Weekly Grounds Ticket Package – Perfect for the avid golf enthusiast, this package provides access to the Championship Grounds at Quail Hollow Club for all seven days of the Championship (Monday through Sunday), and is $295 per package.

• Championship Round Daily Grounds Tickets– Be there to witness history unfold at Quail Hollow Club. Daily Grounds access on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday is $95 per person, per day.

• Practice Round Daily Grounds Tickets – The practice rounds offer unique opportunities to see the best players in the world up close as they prepare to compete in the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club. Daily Grounds access on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday is just $30 per person, per day.

In addition, the PGA of America will also offer special admission policies for future major champions and America’s military heroes. Each ticketed adult will be able to bring up to four juniors under age 17 onto the grounds for free each day. No registration is necessary. Junior tickets can be picked up at the Admission and Will Call Office at the Championship main entrance and will be available regardless of sell out.

Likewise, all U.S. active duty, military retirees, active reserve, National Guard, Department of Defense civilians and their accompanying spouse are eligible to receive complimentary Daily Grounds tickets by presenting their Military ID at the Admissions and Will Call Office.
