Old Del Monte...a sort of unsung jewel in the Monterey area. Though I haven't played the course in years, since moving from the area, I have many fond memories of the course. It is a challenging layout and exceptionally well maintained course. There are holes that challenge you to go for it as well as others that say, "you'd better play smart here or I'll make you pay.". If you want a challenging round on a beautiful course, this one's for you. You won't pay the rates of a Pebble or Spyglass (of course you won't get to say "I played Pebble and Spyglass") but you will be in store for a golfing treat. it's also the oldest course west of the Mississippi in continuous operation so...you're playing on a patch of history. Don't miss it.
