Calusa Pines has been ranked as one of the top courses in the U.S. by Golf Magazine's panel of experts.
Quietly situated behind rows of towering conifers, Calusa Pines is a rarity among Florida golf courses because it showcases some dramatic elevation changes to go along with lightning fast greens and creative bunkering.
The long, dogleg-right par-5 4th hole is a brute with marsh running the length of the right side. Beware of the alligators that patrol the reeds below the tee box! The uphill, 310-yard par-4 6th tempts the longest hitters to try for the green, but a huge, deep bunker guards the front of the putting surface, so a mid-iron approach is the popular choice. The uphill 18th, a par 4, requires players to thread the needle between two of the deepest bunkers on the course.
