East Lake has been ranked as one of the top courses in the U.S. by Golf Magazine's panel of experts.
The 18th at Bobby Jones's old home club is a gargantuan par-3 of 240 yards that plays over an arm of East Lake to an elevated green. The lake seldom bothers the pros on this hole; what gets them is the demanding, back-to-front sloping green and the steep bunkers that frame the green. Still, you can't ignore one of golf's most historic water hazards. Long irons, fairway woods and utility clubs have been the weapons of choice for past champions Sutton, Mickelson, Singh, Goosen and Bart Bryant.
This is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta, and in 2005 was named the permanent home of The TOUR Championship. East Lake Golf Club is a walking-only course with a caddie program. For more information, go to eastlakegolfclub.com.

I'm lucky to live in Atlanta and have so many great courses, with so much history to choose from. East Lake is one of my favorites. You can smell the history. Every time I play I feel like breaking out the hickory shafted clubs and a pair of plus fours. The zoysia fairways are so much fun to hit off of. The greens are firm and roll so true. The people there are always great. It's always a great experience.
