This afternoon I'm going to be playing Falcon Creek for the first time since last August. I will play 9 more times during this season.
Giving a rating of 4 stars based upon last year, but will re-rate after today's round.
Course will re-pen April,2015. Closes in the winter, so members have to play @ Fountain Green at Fort Dix portion of MDL. Yes< course continues to improve. Many familiar faces. Almost feels like a family reunion every time we play. Our allegiance will remaine with Falcon Creek.
It's 2014 and Falcon Creek remains open and looks to continue into the foreseeable future. The renovated greens are tight, sloped and fast; the back 9 in general has matured very nicely.
The new scorecard reflects a slight reduction in lengths, but the challenge is still there with a true risk/reward condition, especially on the back 9. Blue-6659/White-6315/Gold -5396 tees remain a par 71 course. Red-5396 tees are par 72. 15th hole, just under 600 yards as the crow flies, plays into the prevailing wind coming off the runways/tarmac of McGuire AFB (12 to 20 mph on any given day). After a lay-up tee shot to avoid running down hill into the Falcon Creek the fairway plays uphill nearly 300 yard with a bunker guarding the green from all approach shots except those from the extreme right-hand rough. A very tough hole. Eagles are non-existent here. Early tee times on Saturday are almost always available.
I love this course!
Rather good military course. Redesigned in 2008.Condition has been improving yearly.Guests may play with those holding a valid militari ID. Cost for guests $45 to $50. several good challenging holes.Clubhouse and grille very good.Extremely good comaraderie with members.
Unfortunately, rumors are that this course may be closed with 1-2 years. This is a shame as the neighboring Fort Dix course,Fountain Green is not near as challenging and conditions have been deteriating over the past two years.
