Winton Country Club is a nice 18 hole course just outside of Amherst, VA. Great designed course and probably the most perfect manicured bent grass greens in the area! My favorite hole is the par 3 6th playing from an elevated tee box over water to a green guarded by a bunker. Signature hole is probably the par 4 17th which is a 90* dogleg left forcing you to layup about 150 yards into the center of the fairway then your approach is another 130-150 yards back up the hill to an elevated green sloping from back to front over a ditch lined fairway then you finish up with a long, slight dogleg right 550 yard par 5 that invites you to "grip it and rip it" on your tee and 2nd shot with either a fairway wood or hybrid/long iron. You should experience a very enjoyable round of golf at Winton!
