Only played this course once but was impressed with it. Good layout and excellent playing conditions. The signature hole is the par 4th 6th where you're given free range to drive the tee shot however the fairway ends at bout 325 yards then falls off a cliff to a green that sits about 40 to 60 feet below the fairway (side note: if you do hit the green with the approach, make sure you carry your divot tool to the green, you will need it!!) When you leave the green, you have to ring a bell beside the cart path signalling to the other players that the green is clear and ready for further play. If you're around Smith Mountain Lake in VA, I'd set a tee time up!
