Van Applegate
Lake Wright is a nice muni course. Tucked between Interstate 64, North Hampton Boulevard, and Norfolk International Airport, there is no escaping the fact that you are playing a true urban links. With wide open fairways, it welcomes golfers of all handicaps. Due to it's location and playability, experienced golfers may find the slower play, and cross hole shooters a tad annoying.
The only real negatives of Lake Wright exists in its greens. They play very slow year round and are usually plagued bald spots and poana grass around the fringe.
Final word: Don't hit your 10th hole tee right of the fairway! Stray range balls make for finding your shot nearly impossible and could cause a very avoidable penalty.
