Scottshank must have played somewhere else. This is the most incredible course on the West Coast, and I have played them all. Bandon is ok, but not up to this level. If you can't handle the fescue, go to Bandon where the Poa is taking over. The greens are very tough, lots of slope, and frustrate some players, but they are a challenge. The US Amateur was here in 2010, and it produced some of the best play ever and the highest attendance ever. The US Open here will be wonderful and I predict this course stays in the top 50 in the US forever.

Not a fan of this course. This is an old gravel pit, too much elevation change, fescue grass always gives a tight lie and bad greens. Why the USGA selected this for a US Open is mind-boggling. Bandon and Pebble are the Major Leagues, this is Double A.

Was stationed at Ft.Lewis and love the Puget Sound. Didn't learn to play till after I left the Army. But it's defiantly one of the prettiest places in America.Just love it there!

Great course and while a great walk is not an easy walk - 1st time players should minimum hire a fore caddie for their group
Greens are vey undulating and treacherous, fairways very firm but trying to play sand wedges from 50 yards and in on such tight lies is nerve wracking
One point - this course is no where as lush green like they show in vids and pics - no complaint just an observation

This is a definite destination course, beautiful links style that is a challenge. Big elevation changes during the round and all walking - so be ready.

An amazing course on the shores of Puget Sound. True links golf at its finest. A must play if in the area

I am fortunate to live just across the "Narrows" (Gig Harbor) from this spectacular course. We have a handful (or two), of spectacular courses here in the Puget Sound area, but this is absolutely my favorite. I'm also lucky to be a resident of Pierce County, and get to play for under $100.00.

If you have a chance to get to this area for a golf outing, don't hesitate to check out some of our other courses. Gold Mountain's "Olympic Course", Trophy Lake Golf & Casting and Washington National to name a few (and there are so many more). I think I'm just bloviating for living in a golfers paradise. But do make a trip to our side of the US and give it a try. It is worth it!

If you haven't played it, it's a must. The architects started with a big sandbox and totally designed a links course from nothing. every time I play it I'm awed that someone had enough imagination to design such an amazing links style course in the US.
