A Quick Nine: Best holiday-themed course names

To get into the spirit of the holiday season, we really challenged our PGA.com Facebook fans this week, asking them to identify for us the best Christmas/Holiday themed golf course names in the country.

No doubt, this may just be the most difficult question we've posed in the two years of, 'A Quick Nine.'

As difficult as it was, we certainly appreciate the effort. Here are the top nine Christmas/Holiday themed golf course name in the country:

9. Mount Snow Golf Club, W. Dover, Vt. It's not often that you associate golf with the word snow, but trust us, this one is worth the trip. Mount Snow Golf Club has been rated one of the top 5 in Vermont by Golf Digest. It has also been named one of the top 10 resort courses in the country by SKI Magazine.

8. Pole Valley Players Club, Hartford, N.Y. According to the description on its website, Pole Valley Players Club is, "Family owned and operated, nestled in a small valley between the Adirondacks Mountains of New York and the Green Mountains of Vermont. Rumor has it as being the 'best kept secret in Washington County.'"

7. Holiday Hills Resort & Golf, Branson, Mo. With loads of scenic holes, the name is very fitting.

6. Plum Creek Golf Club, Carmel, Ind. Designed by renowned architect Pete Dye, don't be fooled by the sugary name -- this course is sure to present a challenge.

5. Antler Springs of Chattaroy Golf Course, Deer Park, Wash. Surrounded by tall fir trees, this place fits the bill.

4. North Star Golf Course, Fairbanks, Alaska. A little fun fact about this course from its website: "North Star Golf Club is Alaska's/America's Northernmost USGA golf course."

3. Christmas Valley Golf Course, Christmas Valley, Ore. Built in 1964, this was for many years the longest 9-hole course in Oregon.

2. Christmas Mountain Village Golf Course, Wisconsin Dells, Wis. From the course's website: "Etched into the rolling hills of Wisconsin Dells, Christmas Mountain offers 27 holes of championship golf. The golf courses at Christmas Mountain were awarded 4 stars by Golf Digest's 'Best Places to Play' and we consider it the 'Best Golf Value in Wisconsin Dells.'"

1. Christmas Lake Golf Course, Santa Claus, Ind. Now if that name and town don't get you in the spitit, I don't know what will!
