Game Changers: Crocs Golf Shoes

Great, so somebody else, like Ecco, has created a golf shoe that looks like a Chuck Taylor All-Star with nubs on the sole and they're charging over $100 for it. Come on, it doesn't have to be that expensive.

They're all made in China/Korea/Thailand/Burma/Bangladesh for about four bucks a throw, and when you ship a container full of them at a time, the shipping cost becomes pennies per pair. Bring the price down to a reasonable level and you'll sell hundreds of thousands of them. Keep it at the present level and you might sell thousands.

It's just like greens fees. Keep them high and you might get a thirty-round day from the local or tourist golfers, but drop them to an affordable level, and you'll fill your golf course every day, make more money just from the volume, and make more profit over time.

I will never buy these shoes based strictly on the fact that Hank Haney has his money grubbing hands in on the brand.
