This is the time of year where we move from a "dormant" bump & run around the greens mentality to a "growing season" pitch or flop shot. Although the percentages quietly say it's better to roll the ball to the hole instead of flying it to the hole, the golf shot sometimes does not allow for this. This summer, try using a more lofted club and plan on landing your short game shot on the green instead of rolling it on the green. This involves wrists cocking and possibly re-cocking throughout the shot. For help with these shots and more, contact the Colleton River Golf Academy at www.colletonriverclub.com or your local PGA Professional.
