A Quick Nine: Best Golf Resorts for Couples

As we have - make that YOU have - put together lists of great golf courses and getaways, one area/list that many have asked from our Facebook friends was a golf destination for couples. Well shame on us for not having this one up sooner - and good on you for coming up with a GREAT list of places. As always, it's hard to narrow it down to nine, but these were the ones that received the most response from our over 140,000 Facebook friends.

Cloister on Sea Island, GA. - Play one of the three championship courses, relax on the beach or shop in town. All within an elite and pampered setting. Hard to beat.
-Five Star, Five Diamond resorts. Three Golf courses and the Seaside course will host the McGladrey Classic for the second year in October...
-Chris Vagtborg

Desert Willow in Palm Desert - Palm Desert has long been a favorite for golf couples - for vacation, for work or for retirement. Desert Willow is one of the finest offerings in the area.
-Kathy and I played at Desert Willow in Palm Desert and had great time. It was the first course we played that had the tees were spaced so that our drives equaled out. The course was beautiful and the staff was very help full.
-Bill Creighton

Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC - The history alone makes Pinehurst a must play for every golfer. But enjoying it with your significant other? Priceless.
Pinehurst Resort-not only a great place to golf, but amazing spa and shopping/cafes in the Village of Pinehurst to boot
- Alex Paparsenos

Manele Bay in Lana'i Hawaii - What makes a resort a great couples resort? Everything about Manele Bay seems to be a good start.
-We loved The Challenge at Manele Bay in Lana'i Hawaii. Ocean views from every hole...very romantic...and wide fairways make it a more friendly challenge.
-Peggie Miller

Kiawah Island Resorts - If you want a little quieter setting with beauty, luxury and amenieties - the home of the 2012 PGA Championship might just be for you.
-Kiawah Island hands down. 5 Golf courses, a world class spa and it's a secluded beach location to boot. Bike rides through the islands trails is a must too.
-Chris Ashley

Pebble Beach Golf Links: Maybe our shortest answer ever given. But it seems to fit.
-Pebble...Duh!
John Domenico

Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, MI. - Many people would argue that Michigan is actually the golf capital of the United States, with more golf courses per capita than any other state - by a lot. And one of the crown jewels of the Wolverine State is Grand Traverse Resort, a great destination for families who love golf.
-Fantastic views of the countryside from the Aerie restaurant and bar on the 16th floor. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. A great place to be, plenty of nearby places for multiple romantic nights out. Three challenging golf courses at the resort, and plenty other courses nearby.
-Darrell Hovinen

Fox Hill Resort in Mischicot, WI -One fan was enthusiastic enough for Fox Hill that it had to be included in the list.
-45 holes of quality golf and if your wife is not a golfer, they have a spa and much more. awesome service! I was just there from July 18th - 20 and it was awesome!
-Bigg Jon Vic

The Monterrey Peninsula. - Though not a resort per se - and though Pebble Beach was already on the list - the Monterrey Peninsula made the list because it was deemed by many to be the ultimate getaway for couples who golf. Both because of the quality of the courses and the sbeauty of the surrounding area, it just seemed to good a venue not to list.- Pebble. Poppy. Spanish Bay. Cypress. San Juan Oaks. Possatiempo . Spas. Resorts. Dining. Hiking. Beaches. And Great Golf! If I could only bottle that Monterrey Bay air for everyone. The sound, the smell, the views. And there may be no more romantic town in the world than Carmel by the Sea. Napolis! Love walking those streets. Enchantment!
