A joint venture to promote a series of annual golf shows in China will combine the strength of the existing China Golf Show and the power of the PGA Merchandise Show brand, and help grow the game in both Asia and America.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Thursday morning at the PGA Merchandise Show in a historic event, PGA of America CEO Joe Steranka, together with a group of distinguished industry leaders, unveiled a new partnership with Reed Guanghe Exhibitions to organize two of Asia’s leading golf shows. 

The new partnership of the PGA World Alliance, China Golf Association and PGA Worldwide Golf Exhibitions will collocate the new PGA Merchandise Show-China, presented by PGA World Alliance, with the existing China Golf Show, and collocate the new PGA Merchandise Show-Asia, presented by PGA World Alliance, with the Asia Golf Show. 

The new partnership of the PGA World Alliance, China Golf Association and PGA Worldwide Golf Exhibitions has the official support of The PGA of America and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, with a cooperative framework agreed in the past month.  This strategic move gives PGA Worldwide Golf Exhibitions and the PGA World Alliance an even more powerful presence in golf in Asia, the game’s most dynamic region.

Under the partnership Reed Guanghe will organize the China Golf Show, originally launched in 2002 and held each spring in Beijing, and the new PGA Merchandise Show-China, presented by PGA World Alliance. Reed Guanghe also will organize the newly launched Asia Golf Show and the new PGA Merchandise Show-Asia, presented by PGA World Golf Alliance. 

The PGA Merchandise Show-China and the PGA Merchandise Show -Asia will be closely affiliated with the PGA Merchandise Show-U.S., the world's largest and most influential global golf business event.  In 2011, the PGA Merchandise Show-China/China Golf Show will be held March 18-20 in Beijing, and the PGA Merchandise Show-Asia/Asia Golf Show will be held October 20-22 in Guangzhou.  Both shows are co-organized by the China Golf Association.

The announcement was made on the opening morning of the 58th PGA Merchandise Show, the international golf industry’s largest and most influential business gathering, and was followed by an Asian golf marketplace address by the international golf competitor and businessman Greg Norman and a panel discussion including Norman and renowned PGA Professional instructors Hank Haney and Michael Breed, who both have extensive golf business developments in Asia.
