Exhibitors unveil numerous new lines for 2013

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A flurry of innovative, new products are being introduced by companies in the Golf Products and Services sector at the PGA Merchandise Show this week.

Exhibitors such as Easy Picker, Fiberbuilt, Sun Mountain, Wittek, Eagle One, Club Car and E-Z-GO/Cushman are using the 2013 PGA Show to launch a variety of new products, while Bag Boy, Champ, Devant, Flightscope, Full Swing Golf, Foresight, HD Golf, GoPro, Swingbyte, Tervis, Sky Golf and Sterling Cut Glass are also rolling out new models, styles and color schemes in their 2013 product lines.

Club Car is launching the Precedent4Fun, first four-passenger vehicle designed specifically for golf and fun at the PGA Show this week, while E-Z-GO/Cushman is introducing the Refresher 1200 with FlexServe technology and its new 72-volt Hauler utility vehicle.

Club Car's Precedent4Fun features front-facing seats for four passengers along with attachments for four golf bags, including junior-sized bags; additional cup holders and a rear passenger hip restraint. It is designed to help courses make the golf experience more enjoyable for families, couples, women, juniors and seniors by allowing all players in a foursome to ride in the same golf car.

"The more opportunities golf offers players to enjoy the company of everyone in their group, the more attractive the game becomes for larger segments of the population," said Marc Dufour, president and CEO of Club Car.

Club Car is also introducing changes to the 2013 model year Precedent golf car, including a standard single-point watering system to extend the life of its battery and redesigned alloy wheels.

E-Z-GO/Cushman is introducing two new golf vehicles — the Refresher 1200 and the fully electric Cushman Hauler with a 72-volt AC drivetrain that provides the range and power once exclusive to gas-powered machines in a silent, zero-emissions vehicle.

The new Hauler features a 72-volt AC electric drivetrain, upgraded from more traditional 48-volt systems, that offers up to 50 miles of range between charges.

"This new Cushman Hauler finally gives golf course operators and superintendents a quiet, green utility vehicle that provides ample range and power for the longest, toughest day's work without annoying golfers," said Michael R. Parkhurst, vice president of golf for E-Z-GO, which designs and manufactures Cushman utility vehicles.

Since it invented the Light Touch range-ball picker in 1970, Easy Picker Golf Products has added hundreds of new items to its driving range and golf course equipment business, including ball washers, dispensers, range mats, range balls and all types of golf-operations equipment. At the 2013 Show, Easy Picker is featuring its recycled plastic golf course accessories, golf course and tee signage, and its new mobile/stationary bag storage systems.

Fiberbuilt of Pinehurst, N.C., manufactures synthetic grass hitting surfaces for driving ranges, golf simulators and practice tees that provide the true feel and playability of real grass. Its patented "long fiber grass" allows golfers to hit down and through the ball, allowing for a proper swing and true fairway feel, with no hand shock or arm injury. Fiberbuilt mats can be found at the Show's Indoor Demo Days-Equipment Test Center.

Sun Mountain is drawing considerable attention this week with its new prototype push carts – including its new Combo Cart that combines push cart and golf bag in one piece – its new Star Cart, and its variety of bright, new colors in its Micro-Cart, which folds into a smaller space and takes up less space in the trunk of a car. Sun Mountain also is turning heads with its new strap system for its Zero-G carry bag and a new line of color schemes in its Three5 and SLX carry bags, and its StormTight jacket in the rainwear category.

"Visitors to our booth at the Show are seeing some prototype push carts that will be available in 2014, which are very interesting in that they are more lightweight and durable than ever, but take up less space than ever in a folded position," said Steve Snyders, Sun Mountain's marketing director.

Wittek Golf, one of the world's leading range equipment manufacturer since 1946, is showing off its latest versions of ball dispensers, ball pickers, bill acceptors, cart adapters, conversion kits, credit-card acceptors and e-range systems, golf key debit systems and golf ball washers at the 2013 Show. Wittek has been an exhibitor at the PGA Merchandise Show for more than 50 years.

Eagle One Golf, which has been designing and manufacturing environmentally friendly, durable and aesthetic products for use on golf courses, resorts, hotels and restaurants for more than 12 years, is displaying its new lines of recycled plastic lumber products this week. With in-house engraving, embroidery, sign and flag making facilities, Eagle One Golf can complete custom orders with high-quality products and short turn-around times. It is expanding its product line since it acquired Fore Par to become one of the largest golf course accessory companies in the world.
