Usually, par 5's are considered birdie holes. Par is often welcomed here. From the tee, deep native grasses on the left and juniper trees on both sides come into play. The majority of the fairway slopes from right to left, and local prevailing winds are often across and/or against you, with a sizable fairway bunker on the left side that comes into play for the second shot. If the first two shots aren't difficult enough, the third is usually from a stance that is not level to a relatively small green that slopes from right to left and considerably towards the player. Grass bunkers on the front right and to left of the green are not closely mown, and therefore, not easy to chip from.
