I don't know about you, but whenever I think about the state of Florida, the first thing that comes to mind after Disney World is golf.
As the weather turns blustery and snow starts to cover courses in the northern part of the country, we look south to find a slice of golf paradise. And with well over 1,000 golf courses in the Sunshine State, there's always a place for you to tee it up.
But where are the best places that you should grab a tee time at while on vacation seeking relief from old man winter? Here are nine of the best places (non-private courses) that our friends on Facebook said our worth playing in South Florida.
We tried to make it easy for you by limiting the selections to a specific region of Florida, but with so many great places to play, it was still difficult.
Here's what you shared with us:
1. The Blue Monster at Doral, Doral, Fla. I think it's safe to say that Doral is a place that needs no introduction. If you've never been, you might want to put it toward the top of your bucket list.
Facebook fan quotes:
"Doral... go for a quick nine, stay and play all weekend." -- Scott Holcombe
"Doral is a pretty good start." -- John Steinberg
"Played Sawgrass twice. Doral is my next dream course in Florida." -- Brandon Jennings
2. Heron Creek Golf and Country Club, North Port, Fla. Heron Creek boasts 27 holes of Championship golf to go with an elegant clubhouse and fine amenities.

5. Hammock Creek Golf Club, Palm City, Fla. Along with outstanding conditions, Hammock Creek claims that even its slowest rounds played clock in at just a shade over four hours.
Facebook fan quotes:
"Hammock Creek designed by Jack Nicklaus is in Palm City, FL and it beats all the public courses around here. Beautiful course in great shape, excellent greens, and GPS on your cart so you can track how far you are from the pin, and every hole has a picture so you are more knowledgeable of the holes you are playing on." -- Stephen Urbanik
"The man is right. Hammock Creek is dope! North Palm CC is a tough test! Of course it is it's a signature Nicklaus!" -- Ryan Gutzeit
6. Inverrary Country Club, East Course, Lauderhill, Fla. Inverrary offers two Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf courses with the history and tradition of 15 PGA and LPGA tournaments. The famous signature East Course has boasted champions like Jack Nicklaus, Johhny Miller, Lee Trevino, Tom Kite, Hale Irwin and Tom Weiskopf
