ESTERO, Fla. -- Another week, and another rare occurrence on a Southwest Florida golf course.

On March 11 at West Bay Club in Estero -- on the same hole, in the same grouping -- one player made an albatross (a double eagle) and another made an eagle on the 472-yard, par-5 No. 8.

Scott Craige, a guest in the Men's Invitational and a 7-handicap from Pembroke Pines, used a 3-hybrid from 231 yards on his second shot. Following up, Ron Galbraith, the member in the grouping, knocked his second shot on from 229 yards, and eagled the hole. That made their combined score 5 under for the hole.

"I guess my eagle was a non-event," joked Galbraith, a 5 handicap, in a release. "Scott's ball was 231 yards from the pin, and mine was 229. We both hit nice high shots to the back-middle pin, but we couldn't see them once they got over the ridge on the putting surface."

The group was looking off the back of the elevated green for Craige's ball when they got up to the green and only saw one ball.

"Imagine our surprise when we found it in the hole!" Craige said.

To top it off, the pair went on to win the two-day event.
