John Daly is looking for his first victory since the 2004 Buick Invitational.

John Daly hasn't held the lead on the PGA Tour or PGA Tour Champions with one round to play since the 2005 WGC-American Express Championship at TPC Harding Park, where he lost a playoff to Tiger Woods.

Until today.

Daly, looking for his first victory on the 50-and-over circuit, began the final round of the Insperity Invitational at the Woodlands in Texas with a one-shot lead on Kenny Perry.

For those wondering how Daly, whose last win came at the 2004 Buick Invitational, might handle the final-round presser, how about this? He began the final round with an eagle (below), parred the second and birdied the third to extend his lead to three shots.

Not bad at all.

In all, the recently-turned 51-year-old Daly collected five wins on the PGA Tour, highlight by two majors -- the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 Open Championship.

There's no doubt he would make for a very popular winner on the PGA Tour Champions this week... or any week.
