Jason Day scores second career PGA Tour ace at BMW Championship

It's been quite an eventful week for former world No. 1 and PGA Champion Jason Day.

Before this week's BMW Championship started, Day fired his caddie Colin Swatton, who will remain his swing coach.

Then he shot a 7-under 64 in the first round at Conway Farms to take the early lead at a tournament he won two years ago.

For an encore on Friday, he was going plenty low again. And then, he reached the 188-yard, par-3 17th hole and did this:

Day hasn't won a tournament since the 2016 Players Championship, but is already three strokes clear of the field at Conway Farms with plenty of second-round golf left to be played.

Earlier in the round at the par-4 14th, Day made an eagle when he dropped a 30-foot putt. It's the fifth time in his career he's had two or more eagles in the same round. The ace was the second of his PGA Tour career.

For the ace, BMW made a $100,000 donation in Day's name to the Western Golf Association and Evans Scholars Foundation.
