Love to announce four captain's picks

The time is finally here -- U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love III will fill out his 12-man roster for the 39th Ryder Cup at Medinah, Sept. 28-30, with the selection of his much-anticipated four captain's picks on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 10:15 a.m. RYDERCUP.com will carry the press conference live.

So who will Love pick?

When points closed at the PGA Championship with the top 8 players earning an automatic bid, the players who finished Nos. 9-12 -- on the outside looking in -- where Hunter Mahan, Steve Stricker, Jim Furyk and Rickie Fowler, respectively.

All four would seem like logical picks. However, since the PGA Championship, Mahan and Fowler have struggled while Brandt Snedeker (No. 13), Dustin Johnson (No. 15) and Nick Watney (No. 30), have all excelled. Watney, in fact, picked up a win at the Barclays.

Whomever Love decides to pick, one thing is certain -- the decision won't be nearly as easy as it seemed just a few weeks ago.
