Sergio Garcia to let fan caddie for him after 206 day Twitter campaign

In today's social media world, the popularity of Twitter has allowed fans to get a glimpse into the lives of their favorite golfers and interact with them by asking questions — and sometimes providing questionable commentary about their game.

For Sergio Garcia fan Mark Johnson, this ability to interact — and a lot of persistence — paid off for him.

Johnson, a resident of the United Kingdom, began a Twitter campaign on July 9, 2016 to try and get Sergio to let him be his caddie for a day. For the next 206 days, he tweeted using the hashtag #Letmecaddieforyou.

Finally, after 206 days of tweets, Johnson got the reply he had been dreaming of for about 7 months and he will be on the bag for Sergio at the British Masters pro-am in September.

Congrats to you, Mark, on a job well done and to Sergio for making this fan's dream come true. Here are some of the highlights from his successful campaign. You can see all of the tweets here.
