Tiger Woods announces relationship with Lindsey Vonn
Well, that answers that.
After months of speculation and coy non-denial denials, Tiger Woods announced on his Twitter and Facebook pages that he and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn are, indeed, dating.
Rumors of a relationship have been swirling for some time. They met at a charity outing in April and reportedly began dating in the fall. The stories intensified when Woods took an extra day to travel to Abu Dhabi so he could layover in Salzburg where Vonn was skiing. And when Vonn tore the ligaments in her knee in an accident in Austria, Tiger’s private jet picked her up.
Now, it’s official. Tiger wrote on his Facebook page, “Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes.”
Vonn, 28, was one of Tiger’s more vocal critics during his scandal-plagued year. She finalized her divorce from skier Thomas Vonn earlier this year. The couple had been married for four years.
