A Tiger Woods' Scotty Cameron putter sold at an auction. Bids started at $25K

You could have known what it was like to putt like Tiger -- or at least use his equipment.

You just needed to spend some money.

One of Tiger Woods' personally used Scotty Cameron putters was up for auction. Bidding started at $25,000. It eventually sold for $53,145.60 last week.

According to the putter's page on Green Jacket Auctions, the putter had sold at a charity auction by former NFL receiver Andre Reed. The former Buffalo Bills player said Tiger gave him the putter. The consignor purchased the 1997 Titleist Scotty Cameron TeI3 Newport "T.W." putter from Reed.

Then the consignor sent it to Scotty Cameron's studio.

"Do you realize what you have here?" the site said the consignor heard from the studio.

After turning down the offer to take it back to Scotty Cameron, the consignor decided to auction off the putter, which has a Certificate of Authencity from Scotty Cameron.

The site said while it's not known which events Tiger used this putter for, it said the putter was used. Green Jacket Auctions said it's possible the putter was used in different tournaments while on the PGA Tour in 1998-1999.

Woods is a 14-time major champion. He almost added to that total this last weekend, as he finished second to Brooks Koepka at the 100th PGA Championship.
