2017 KPMG Women's PGA Championship features most historic LPGA Tour field to date

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. (June 22, 2017) – For the second consecutive year of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, all 100 of the top 100 LPGA members on the LPGA Official Money List are included in the 156-player field, including 26 Major Champions. The world’s best will compete for the title June 27 – July 2, at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Ill.

The 2017 field is highlighted by defending champion Brooke Henderson, who became the second youngest player to win a major championship in LPGA history at last year’s event. She will be joined by World No. 1-ranked Ariya Jutanugarn, three-time champion Inbee Park, and World No. 2 Lydia Ko in the talent-rich field.

There are 26 Major Champions, owning a combined 53 major titles, in the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship field, including: Na Yeon Choi, In Gee Chun, Paula Creamer, Laura Davies, Shanshan Feng, Brooke Henderson, Ariya Jutanugarn, Cristie Kerr, Hyo Joo Kim, Lydia Ko, Brittany Lang, Stacy Lewis, Brittany Lincicome, Catriona Matthew, Mo Martin, Anna Nordqvist, Inbee Park, Suzann Pettersen, Morgan Pressel, So Yeon Ryu, Jiyai Shin, Lexi Thompson, Yani Tseng, Karrie Webb, Michelle Wie, and Sun Young Yoo.

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship — a collaboration of the PGA of America, KPMG, and the LPGA Tour — continues the tradition of the LPGA Championship. Broadcast in partnership with NBC and Golf Channel, the Championship offers a purse among the highest in women’s golf. The event combines an annual major golf championship with the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit and the KPMG Future Leaders Program – all focused on the development, advancement, and empowerment of women on and off the golf course.

PGA and LPGA CLUB PROFESSIONALS
PGA and LPGA Professional Alison Curdt earned her second trip to the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship after a runner-up finish in the PGA Women’s Stroke Play Championship in February. Curdt highlights a field that includes three other PGA Professionals: Karen Paolozzi of Atlanta, Georgia; Jessica Carafiello of Stamford, Connecticut; and Amanda McCurdy of Arlington, Texas.

Curdt, 35, is one of 11 women in the PGA of America to achieve the highest PGA credential earned by an instructor and has more than 28 years of golf competition experience, which includes a four-year stint at Florida State University. Paolozzi is making her third consecutive appearance and is the first woman PGA Member to win the Georgia PGA Professional Championship.
