KAPALUA, Hawaii -- David Duval is joining Golf Channel as a studio analyst for some of the biggest tournaments.

Duval said Tuesday he does not consider this a step toward retirement from the PGA Tour. The former No. 1 player in the world has been coping with injuries the better part of the last decade and can no longer rely on good health.

He has done some TV work over the last few years. Golf Channel has hired him to be a studio analyst alongside Brandel Chamblee during the network's shows from the majors, the FedEx Cup playoffs, World Golf Championships and other top events.

Duval says this is a way for him to stay involved in a game he loves and provide a current voice of the players.
