Purse: $8.25 million. Winner's share: $1,485,000.
 
Last year: Hunter Mahan won the playoff opener at Ridgewood, closing with a 6-under 65 for a two-shot victory.
 
Last week: Davis Love III won the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, at 51 years, 4 months, 10 days to become the third-oldest champion in tour history. He finished with a 6-under 64 for a one-stroke victory over Jason Gore.
 
Notes: The top 125 in the regular-season standings qualified for the tournament. The top 100 after the event will be eligible for the Deutsche Bank next week at TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts. The field will be cut to 70 for the BMW Championship at Conway Farms in Lake Forest, Illinois, and to 30 for the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta. ... Jordan Spieth leads the FedExCup standings. The Masters and U.S. Open champion has a tour-high four victories. ... Rory McIlroy, Louis Oosthuizen, Sergio Garcia, Francesco Molinari and Retief Goosen are skipping the tournament. ... Dustin Johnson won at Plainfield in 2011. ... The 2016 event will be played at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York.

Last year: Wales' Jamie Donaldson won to secure a spot on the European Ryder Cup team. Bradley Dredge was two strokes back for the tour's first 1-2 Welsh finish.
 
Last week: England's David Horsey won the Made in Denmark tournament by two strokes for his fourth European Tour title.
 
Notes: Horsey is in the field. ... The Russian Open is next week, followed by the KLM Open in the Netherlands.
 
LPGA TOUR
YOKOHAMA TIRE LPGA CLASSIC

Schedule: Thursday-Sunday.
Course: Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, Capitol Hill, The Senator (6,607 yards, par 72).
Purse: $1.3 million. Winner's share: $195,000.
 
Last year: Mi Jung Hur shot 64-70-67-66 for a tournament-record 21-under 267 total. Stacy Lewis was second, four strokes back.
 
Last week: Lydia Ko won the Canadian Pacific Women's Open for the third time in four years. She beat Lewis with a par on the first hole of a playoff at Vancouver Golf Club.
 
Notes: Lewis won the 2012 tournament. She has 19 career runner-up finishes, six since winning the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in June 2014 for the last of her 11 LPGA Tour titles. This year, she has finished second four times and third three times. ... Lexi Thompson won the 2011 tournament at age 16. ... The tour is off next week. The Evian Championship, the last of the five majors, is Sept. 10-13 in France.

Course: Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, Witch Hollow (7,041 yards, par 71).
Purse: $800,000. Winner's share: $144,000.
 
Last year: Mexico's Carlos Ortiz won the last of his three 2014 titles, finishing with an even-par 71 for a one-stroke victory. He won the regular-season money title.
 
Last week: Money leader Patton Kizzire won the News Sentinel Open in Tennessee for his second title of the season. He closed with consecutive 64s for a four-stroke victory.
 
Notes: The top 25 on the money list after the event will earn 2015-16 PGA Tour cards. The four-event Web.com Tour Finals — also offering 25 PGA Tour cards — starts Sept. 10-13 with the Hotel Fitness Championship in Fort Wayne, Indiana. ... Kizzire has earned $512,553 this season. Martin Piller is second with $343,649, and Dawie van der Walt third at $292,547. Piller and van der Walt also have two victories this year.
 
CHAMPIONS TOUR
DICK'S SPORTING GOODS OPEN

Purse: $1.9 million. Winner's share: $285,000.
 
Last year: Bernhard Langer won the last of his five 2014 titles. Kevin Sutherland shot a tour-record 59 in the second round. He finished with a 74 to tie for seventh.
 
Last week: Billy Andrade won the Boeing Classic in Snoqualmie, Washington, for his second victory of the year. Langer was second, a stroke back.
 
Notes: Langer is bogey-free in his last 93 holes in the event. The German will be 58 on Thursday. ... En-Joie was the site of the PGA Tour's now-defunct B.C. Open from 1971-2005. ... Craig Stadler won the 2003 B.C. Open to become the first player to win a PGA Tour event while a member of the Champions Tour. ... The tour is off the next two weeks. Play will resume Sept. 18-20 with the Pacific Links China Championship.
