WEDNESDAY: Ferris State wins PGA Jones Cup for first time, Florida State second
Ferris State University of Big Rapids, Mich., played a little defense Wednesday, as the Bulldogs were coming off a 14-stroke first-round lead. Paced by medalist Chad Sandee of Sheboygan, Wis., they held off runner-up Florida State University by 10 strokes and third-place finisher Florida Gulf Coast University by 12.
TUESDAY: Ferris State grabs 14-shot lead after first round
With wind gusts reaching 25 mph around PGA Golf Club on Tuesday, Ferris State University raced out to a 14-stroke lead after the first round. Featuring an all-senior lineup, the Bulldogs shot 2 under par as a team and were paced by the only three players in the 95-student field to finish under par.
Field for 12th PGA Jones Cup set, with 19 universities set to compete
A total of 19 teams from across the country will contest the PGA Jones Cup presented by High Definition Golf. The 36-hole National Championship for PGA Golf Management Universities will feature 95 players (five from each school), with both Defending Champion Campbell University and Mississippi State University vying for a record fourth title.
