Eligibility: One boy and one girl champion from each of the 41 PGA Sections, champions of the eight PGA Junior Series events and champions of selected national junior tournaments conducted earlier in the year and past Junior PGA Championship champions who have not reached their 19th birthdays. 

Details: Each year the field includes past winners of the Championship, PGA Junior Series event champions, PGA Section winners, many of Polo Golf and Golfweek's top-ranked players, and selected national junior tournament winners. The 72-hole Championship will feature a 54-hole cut to the low 30 boys and 30 girls, including ties.

Kristen Gillman of Austin, Texas, put together a record-breaking performance to win the girls' division by a whopping 11 strokes, while Sam Burns of Shreveport, La., claimed the boys' division title by a two-shot margin on Friday. Bethany Wu was second among the girls, while Gordon Neale was the boys' runner-up.
 
FRIDAY: Sam Burns takes commanding lead in boys' division after three rounds 
Sam Burns of Shreveport, La., took a commanding four-stroke lead after 54 holes Friday morning, with the final round still to play. The boys' third round was halted Thursday afternoon by thunderstorms with the leaders on the back nine. 
 
THURSDAY: Kristen Gillman keeps girls' lead, boys' play suspended 
Kristen Gillman of Austin, Texas, extended her girls' division lead to six shots in Thursday's third round, while an afternoon thunderstorm halted play for the day with the boys' division leaders on the back nine. Gordon Neale of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., holds a two-shot lead.
 
WEDNESDAY: Gordon Neale and Kristen Gillman hold lead after two rounds 
Kristen Gillman of Austin, Texas, extended her lead through 36 holes in the girls' division, while Gordon Neale of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., grabbed the boys' lead on Wednesday. Neale shot a 64, which tied him for the lowest second-round score in event history, while Gillman shot her second consecutive 66 for the lowest girls' two-day total ever posted.
 
TUESDAY: Kristen Gillman leads girls after first round, four boys tied  
Under benign weather conditions, Kristen Gillman of Austin, Texas, took the 18-hole lead in the girls’ division, while a group of four are tied in the boys’ division: Luis Gagne of Orlando, Fla.; Triston Fisher of Southlake, Texas; S.M. Lee of Buford, Ga.; and Parker Reddig of Minneapolis, Minn.

Junior PGA Champions to earn PGA Tour and LPGA Tour exemptions 
In a two-year agreement announced Tuesday, the boys’ and girls’ division champions in both the 2014 and 2015 Junior PGA Championship presented by Under Armour and Genesis Networks will earn an exemption to compete on the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour, respectively. 
 
The stellar field gathering at Miramont Country Club in Bryan, Texas, includes all eight PGA Junior Series event champions, 41 PGA Section winners, many of the top players from the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and Polo Golf Rankings, as well as select national junior tournament winners.

Defending champs McDaniel and Lee return to Junior PGA Championship 
Tyler McDaniel of Kentucky and Amy Lee of California joined the ranks of major junior champions last summer. Both will try to repeat their feat at Miramont Country Club, where several other top-ranked boys and girls are already committed to compete.

Miramont CC in Texas to host 2014 and 2015 Junior PGA Championships
Miramont Country Club in Bryan, Texas, has been named the host site of the 2014 and 2015 Junior PGA Championships. Miramont CC, which opened in 2005, becomes the first facility in Texas to host the Junior PGA Championship.

The PGA of America has announced that Under Armour, Inc. and Genesis Networks will be presenting sponsors of the Junior PGA Championship and the 41 Section Junior PGA Championships conducted nationwide. 
 
2013: McDaniel and Lee capture titles at 38th Junior PGA Championship 
Tyler McDaniel of Manchester, Ky., and Amy Lee of Brea, Calif., captured titles in thrilling fashion Friday as both players sank championship-clinching putts on the 72nd hole. McDaniel finished at 10-under-par 274 total, while Lee – who was three shots back with three holes to go – finished at 5-under 279.
 
JUNIOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP
The 39th Junior PGA Championship presented by Under Armour and Genesis Networks, one of the nation’s premier events in junior golf, will be making its first visit to the state of Virginia when an elite field of 156 junior golfers descend on Miramont Country Club in Bryan, Texas. The Junior PGA Championship is where the best in the world get their start. Begun in 1976, the Championship has been a popular stop on the national junior circuit for many of today’s PGA and LPGA touring professionals. Notable past participants include: Tiger Woods, Inbee Park, Phil Mickelson, Cristie Kerr, Jordan Spieth and Alexis Thompson.
