President George W. Bush played golf today at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas with disabled Staff Sgt. Heath Calhoun to kick off Patriot Golf Day weekend benefiting Folds of Honor Foundation and its scholarship program for the families of wounded and disabled soldiers. Calhoun, who was severely wounded in Iraq, has three children who are scholarship recipients. Also playing in the group were Folds of Honor founder Major Dan Rooney, PGA, and PGA of America President Jim Remy. Golf facilities across the country will be accepting donations and hosting events throughout Labor Day weekend in support of Patriot Golf Day.
