No great problems off the tee at this short par 4, but scattered pot bunkers and spiky gorse bushes -- known as whins in Scotland -- line the right rough. The deep Cartgate bunker is virtually invisible, but it bites a great chunk out of the left side of a slightly raised green. Good placement from the tee can set up a real birdie chance.
