Hole 11

No. 11 — 174 Yards, Par 3

The 11th runs in the opposite direction to the short eighth and catches the full force of the prevailing wind. The green slopes sharply from the back and left behind Strath bunker. But the hazard to avoid at all costs is Hill bunker on the left, a deep pit set well below the level of the green. Anything coming up short will run a long way back down the slope and through the green where the ground drops into a deep hollow.

By Keith Mackie, golf historian and writer from a well-established golfing family in St. Andrews.
