ST. ANDREWS, Scotland -- The R&A has announced ticket prices for the 2008 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, where Ireland's Padraig Harrington will be the defending champion. Tickets can be purchased online at www.opengolf.com.

"We are offering a large saving on season tickets purchased before the end of January 2008. The cost at 180 (British pounds), represents a 40-percent discount when compared to daily admission charges for the four practice days and the four days of competition," said David Hill, Director of Championships at The R&A.

A daily ticket, for the four Championship days (July 17-20, 2008), costs 55 British pounds. Children under 16 will continue to be admitted free of charge and concessions are available.
