- Tom Watson became the second oldest Champion when he poured in a 3-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff against David Eger at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., to win the 72nd Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid.
- David Hutsell, PGA director of instruction at The Elkridge Club in Baltimore, Md., earned the biggest victory of his career when he won a sudden-death playoff to claim the 44th PGA Professional National Championship at Hershey (Pa.) Country Club.
- OMEGA signs a five-year strategic partnership to become The Official Timekeeper of The PGA of America through the Centennial in 2016.
- The PGA of America unveils Golf 2.0, a targeted, focused, long-range strategic plan for the golf industry to substantially increase the number of golfers to 40 million by the year 2020 while growing the relevance of golf in America.
- Keegan Bradley dueled Jason Dufner through a three-hole aggregate playoff, making a birdie on the 16th hole to capture the 93rd PGA Championship at Atlanta Country Club by one stroke, and becoming only the third player in at least 100 years to win a major championship in his first try. Bradley is also one of five PGA Champions (following Jack Burke Jr., Dave Marr, Davis Love III and Rich Beem) who is the son of a PGA Professional.

- Tom Lehman wins his first senior major title in defeating Fred Couples and David Frost on the first playoff hole to capture the 71st Senior PGA Championship at Colorado Golf Club.
- Mike Small, the University of Illinois men's head golf coach, earns a piece of history with a record-tying third PGA Professional National Championship at French Lick (Ind.) Resort.
- Martin Kaymer wins a three-hole playoff to capture the 92nd PGA Championship at Whistling Straits and becomes the first German and third consecutive international player to take home the Wanamaker Trophy.
- Jim Mrva, PGA head professional at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, N.Y., is named the 2010 PGA Golf Professional of the Year.
- Barney Adams Named, inventor of the Tight Lies® fairway wood, has been named the recipient of the 2010 PGA Ernie Sabayrac Award, for lifetime contributions to the golf industry.
- Allen Wronowski, PGA director of golf at Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Md., was elected the 37th President of The PGA of America at the 93rd PGA Annual Meeting in Boston.
