The Midwest PGA Section Women's Golf Expo at Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo., continues to be a huge hit for women golfers of all skill levels. Last Tuesday (June 7), more than 200 ladies participated in a free day of golf presented by REAPP Investment Management Services, which included free golf instruction from Midwest PGA Professionals, equipment demonstrations, custom club fitting, fashion displays, car test driving, wine tasting, free beverages, raffle prizes and contests. In addition to attending the Expo, 44 ladies also participated in a scramble hosted by Tiffany Greens on the morning of the event.

Mike Zadalis, general manager and PGA director of golf at Tiffany Greens Golf Club, has joined with PGA Professionals of the Midwest PGA Section to host the Women's Golf Expo since 2008. Many women return year after year and most of them bring a new face or two.

"We continue to host this event because we are trying to grow this great game of golf and the women's market has the most growth potential," said Zadalis. "Women really appreciate the opportunity to come to the club and participate in events that cater specifically to them."

LPGA Professional Cindy Miller gave an entertaining and informative presentation as the featured Keynote speaker. Miller is a veteran of five U.S. Women's Opens and is the current National LPGA Teacher of the Year. She has also been named to Golf Digest's "Top Women Teachers in America" list.

"The Midwest PGA Section truly 'gets it' when it comes to growing women's golf," said Miller. "Their Women's Golf Expo is one of the best I have ever seen."

More than $5,000 in proceeds from the event was donated to local charities, including Susan G. Komen For The Cure.

During June, thousands of PGA and LPGA Professionals at golf facilities nationwide offer special programs throughout the month, highlighting golf as a great way for women of all ages and skill levels to connect with friends and family. A complete list of participating facilities and upcoming events is available at PlayGolfAmerica.com.

Tiffany Greens is one of five facilities scheduled to host a Play Golf America Day geared toward women in 2011. On June 25, John A. White Golf Course in Atlanta, Ga. will host a PGA Championship Play Golf America Day supporting Women's Golf Month welcoming everyone, especially women.

More than 196,000 people nationwide have been introduced or re-introduced to the game of golf over the past six years during Women's Golf Month, which premiered in 2005 as Women's Golf Week, and statistics have consistently shown that 34 percent of these are beginners.
