Was the medalist at 1998 PGA Tour qualifying tournament . .With his victory in the 2003 Masters, became the second left-hander to win a major championship, joining New Zealand's Bob Charles, who won the 1963 British Open . . At age 13, wrote a letter to Jack Nicklaus seeking advise on whether he should switch to playing right-handed.
