Furyk possesses one of the most distinctive and recognizable swings on the PGA Tour, a swing that he describes as natural and athletic. His only teacher has been his father, Mike, who started Jim putting cross handed at age seven, on the advice of Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. Furyk is considered to be one of the best putters on Tour. . . Member of the 1997, 1999 & 2002 Ryder Cup Team. . . .Member of the 1998 & 2000 Presidents Cup Team . . .Set PGA Tour record for most money earned without a victory with $1.6 million in '97. Since then, the total was raised to $3.4 million by Vijay Singh in 2001.
