In the 1980s, Sutton was one of the biggest young stars on Tour, winning seven times, including the 1983 PGA Championship, in his first five years. . . But by 1992, he was struggling with his game and finished 185th on the money list. In 1993, he finished 161st and was forced to use his one-time top-50 career exemption to play the 1994 season. He played well enough that year to return to the top 30 on the money list and in 1995 he completed his comeback with a win at the B.C. Open, closing with a final round 61. . . Winner 1980 U.S. Amateur. . . Member 1985, '87, '99 & 2001 Ryder Cup Teams. . . .Member of 2000 Presidents Cup Team. |
