Grew up near Augusta National GC, home of the Masters, and was a member of Augusta Country Club, which is adjacent to Amen Corner...Next-door neighbor was the first person who introduced him to golf...Started playing golf at age 7 and won five tournaments before his 11th birthday...Shot his first sub-70 tournament round at age 10, the same age at which he began taking lessons from instructor. . .Capped of his college golfing career in 2000 my winning the NCAA Championships in both the team competition and individual. His rounds of 67-66-63-69 gave him a eight shot win. . . Won the Jack Nicklaus Award for College Golfer of the Year, turned pro right after his NCAA victory. . .Member of the 2003 Presidents Cup team.
